Is The Mcplant Only For January?

The McPlant will be available at select US locations beginning November 3. Unlike its British counterpart, the meatless sandwich in the US is only being tested at a very select number of locations—just eight, to start. From November 3 until sold out, you can find the McPlant at these select McDonald’s locations.

“We’re so pleased that our McPlant is now officially ‘everywhere’ and available for more of our customers to taste and enjoy,” McDonald’s U.K. and Ireland Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Graham-Clare said in a statement.

“We estimate every 1% share of McDonald’s U.S. nationwide beef burger business captured by McPlant may translate into $40 million of annual sales for Beyond Meat and, set against FY22E revenue of ~$600 million, the relationship could theoretically prove sizable,” analysts said.

McDonald’s meatless burger, the McPlant, has launched in select testing markets worldwide in partnership with Beyond Meat.

What is the McPlant burger?

In November 2020, McDonald’s announced that they were implementing a new burger that was meat-free. The item was later added to menus in 2021 before being added to its permanent menu the following year.

The McPlant burger is available across the UK and Ireland, and will soon be available in the United States.

The news of McDonald’s newest menu addition comes on the same day KFC announces its plan to sell plant-based chicken in the United States, starting January 10, 2022.
