Grabbing a funnel cake might be one of your go-to summer traditions, but you may not have thought of drinking a coffee inspired by the treat. Nonetheless, Starbucks is firing up its summer menu with a carnival-style sip — its new Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino, which launched on May 11.
According to Starbucks the drink features “funnel cake–flavored syrup blended with coffee, milk and ice, layered with strawberry puree, whipped cream and powdered-sugar-funnel-cake pieces.” We had to get our hands on one to try. Since this was for my 12-year-old daughter, we ordered the non-caffeinated creme version.
Sadly, most state fairs aren’t on the menu this summer, but you can still order a Funnel Cake Frappuccino at Starbucks! Sure, Starbucks has plenty of official drinks to keep us busy. But for those of us in the know, there’s nothing more fun than the secret menu.

Starbucks is taking things to the next level this summer with a sweet new sip. The brand debuted the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino on May 11, and it’s a treat that’ll have you throwing it back to summer days at festivals and amusement parks.
And the latest discovery by these pro customers is a Starbucks Funnel Cake Frappuccino. The “secret” Starbucks Funnel Cake Frappuccino is the perfect treat to ring in the fall season. While the Pumpkin Spice Latte is the usual go-to, once you try this new secret item, you might make it your official autumn drink.
Funnel cake syrup is a relatively new addition to the Starbucks menu. It made its debut around 2021 as a seasonal syrup. As its name suggests, this syrup tries a whack at the old classic that we ate in amusement parks and carnivals.
The new summer menu is available at Starbucks stores in U.S. and Canada beginning Tuesday, May 11. The summer menu features the new Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino® blended beverage and returning favorite Unicorn Cake Pop.

“As the whipped cream melts, and the funnel cake pieces mix into the drink, you definitely get more a sweet, dessert taste,” Reitz concludes. So, while you can expect a summery twist on a classic coffee flavor, the drink isn’t exactly a carbon copy, flavor-wise, to the powdered sugar-covered confections you grab at the fair.
The sip pays homage to the classic amusement park snack, combining layers of strawberry puree and whipped cream on the bottom of the cup. As for the coffee mixture, you can expect a blend of funnel cake-flavored syrup, ice, milk, and coffee.
