Social media doesn’t cause narcissism. It’s a platform for narcissism. Tragically, it’s a magnifying glass for who we are. Humans and status seeking animals.
Social media cannot create narcissists because in order to create narcissists you must have the genetic predisposition to narcissism, as well as a complete and sustained lack of control in your environment during your youth. What would be more accurate is to say social media attracts narcissists, rather than creates them.
You may feel so hurt for the poor treatment of you by a narcissist and need to get even, but my advice is don’t expose them on social media because it may backfire on you. There may be a smear campaign against you by this person and even so, maintain your dignity and get on with your own life, feel relieved that you know who they really are.
