To transform pancake mix into waffle mix, you will need to add: –
- An extra egg. This will help your waffles rise a little more and get them really fluffy.
- More oil. This will stop your waffles from sticking to your waffle maker (which can happen when cooking at a high temperature).
- Extra sugar. This will change the taste of your waffle mix slightly.
So, are pancake and waffle mixes the same? The short answer is no. These mixes may have similar basic ingredients – flour, eggs, butter, sugar, and leavening agents, but that’s where the similarities end. These mixes both have their own increments that render them different from each other. What Makes Them Different
- Preheat your waffle iron.
- Mix everything together in a large bowl starting with the dry ingredients.
- Spray your waffle iron with non-stick spray, and then drop the batter in and use a spoon to spread it out (the batter will be thick and sticky).
- Close the lid and cook until the automatic timer goes off.
Prep:
- Combine the water, milk powder (or 1.5 cups of milk), and an egg yolk using a beater.
- Keep mixing the contents until you don’t see any lumps.
- Whisk the egg whites in a bowl separately until its stiff.
- Add the stiff egg whites into the batter.
- Pour batter onto hot waffle iron and cook for 3 minutes or until steaming.
