Youâll need:
- Microwave-safe mug or bowl
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp white vinegar
- 1 egg
- Small microwave-safe plate
- Pot of Water or Sous Vide Machine
- Temperature Probe
- Timer
Instructions
- Boil the water, adding a tablespoon of vinegar. Meanwhile, crack your eggs into a small cup so they’re ready to go when the water reaches the right temperature.
- When the water reaches a boil, reduce it to a gentle simmer.
- Gently keep the water moving with a spoon while the eggs cook.
Whirlpool Method
- Add water to a large saucepan until 8cm deep. Bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer.
- Crack an egg into a small bowl.
- Allow 31â2 – 4 minutes for poached eggs with firm whites and soft, runny yolks.
- Remove eggs from the water with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
