How Do You Poach Egg Whites In The Microwave?

You’ll need:

  • Microwave-safe mug or bowl
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • Small microwave-safe plate
  • Pot of Water or Sous Vide Machine
  • Temperature Probe
  • Timer

Instructions

  1. Boil the water, adding a tablespoon of vinegar. Meanwhile, crack your eggs into a small cup so they’re ready to go when the water reaches the right temperature.
  2. When the water reaches a boil, reduce it to a gentle simmer.
  3. Gently keep the water moving with a spoon while the eggs cook.

Whirlpool Method

  • Add water to a large saucepan until 8cm deep. Bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer.
  • Crack an egg into a small bowl.
  • Allow 31⁄2 – 4 minutes for poached eggs with firm whites and soft, runny yolks.
  • Remove eggs from the water with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
