Review: The Hide, Jumeirah Al Qasr

Hidden on the ground floor of the majestic Jumeirah Al Qasr, The Hide is the first culinary concept reimagined by the Jumeirah Group in a series of major development projects for its waterfront gourmet portfolio.

We walked into an exquisitely decorated grill and bar, which draws inspiration from the old-school charm and provides ambient lighting, eye-catching interiors and attractive decorations. Retro photos decorate the indoor environment, with a gorgeous round bar in the corner and an open grill for a glimpse of the work of The Hide’s cooking team.

The outdoor terrace has private seating in the lush garden, where we choose to dine.

Highlights:

The menu is the impressive creation of Executive Chef Eric Turgeon, with modern meat cutting, marine treasures, healthy barbecue, vegetarian dishes and plant-based options.

I have to admit that it took us a short time to decide on the appetizers. Grilled prawns with sauce vierge (a French sauce made with diced tomatoes, olive oil, herbs and lemon juice), topped with micro herbs, and arrived soon; followed by burnt octopus with Sriracha grapefruit and Pureed avocado. The seasoning, texture and appearance of each dish are different, providing a good start to our evening. The shelled grilled prawns are cooked to perfection, with summer flavor and mild soup flavor; while the octopus is full of sweet and spicy, slightly crunchy texture, which perfectly matches with the creamy flavor of avocado.

If you crave refreshing cocktails, take a look at the beverage menu full of innovative choices. Treat yourself to the flavors of fresh grapefruit and pineapple, lime, lemon, ginger, lavender, cinnamon, orange, and even drink a cup of richer chocolate before going to bed after dinner. In addition to the stunning display, a balanced blend of essences makes every ingredient shine.

Diners have many main dishes to choose from. My dining partner decided to enjoy a Cabassi Wagyu 350g rib eye with Béarnaise sauce and truffle cheese macaroni; and I chose a lighter bite, a healthier January, Alaska Halibut with lemon butter and sautéed spinach.

The steak is creamy and luscious, and the halibut is great. Both main dishes are topped with roasted garlic, and then squeezed into a sweet, nutty, garlic flavored delicacy. If you are not sure which side to order, we recommend truffle macaroni and cheese-one serving is enough to share. Expect a rich, velvety, lush bite.

The dessert is Crème brûlée recommended by the staff, with an Irish cream flavor, topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries; and a beautifully presented Chocolate rocher, including chocolate, salted caramel, crumbled biscuit and macadamia texture . Everyone was amazing in their own way, we wiped the plates very clean.

judgment:

It is very suitable for date nights, friendly gatherings, comfortable chats, business meetings, or even a one-person dinner.
