I like the watermelon season, don’t I? ! It’s as if nothing is more refreshing and juicy than a piece of amazing fruit-don’t you agree?
Well, my father is famous for his “kitchen spices”, and he is best known for his watermelon juice. This is the family’s favorite drink and I will share it with you today.
I guarantee that if you try it, you will not be disappointed! It does include some strawberries, but if those are not your favorite, you can always substitute another berry, or even omit all berries and watermelons.
How to make watermelon juice
First, cut the watermelon into quarters. Pour a quarter of the watermelon into the blender. Cut off the tops of 4 strawberries and add them to the blender. Stir well.
Add the remaining ingredients to the blender (sugar, water and ice). Mix well. This makes two very large glasses of juice.
A whole watermelon can make about 8-12 servings, but you must add and mix these ingredients every time so that they can fit into your blender.
How to choose a good watermelon? Watermelons should have a field on the side where they rest on the ground. It will look very yellow. When you hit the melon with your knuckles, it should also sound hollow. Another way to check is whether it has dull skin. What looks shiny is usually immature. Or check our post here.
Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh strawberries? Yes, you can. This will give it a more muddy texture rather than a juice-like texture.
Can it be made with seeds? The best watermelon for this recipe is seedless watermelon. Do not eat black seeds.
Can watermelon juice be frozen? You should freeze watermelon juice in a container with a lid while leaving some space in it so that it can expand. Put it in the refrigerator for 30-60 days. If you don’t freeze it in the end, it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Can watermelon juice be used to lose weight? skin care? Watermelon helps to lose weight because it is mainly composed of water, so although it may fill your stomach, it does not contain as many calories as other juices.
