We love pancakes!

Golden pancakes (aka pancakes) are perfect for feeding a crowd. You can pump large quantities in an instant! They are easy to customize and even easier to eat!

Whether you fill it with fruit or chocolate chips or top it with jam, syrup or whipped cream, they are sure to be a hit!

I’ve rounded up my most popular and most popular pancake recipes to make sure you find something that will keep your breakfast out of the park!

Favorite Pancake Toppings

You can’t really beat the classic butter and syrup, but it’s fun to try. The options for topping pancakes are endless. You can choose one to serve or set several options for the pancake bar.

Pancake Tips

The batter is simply mixed until combined unless otherwise stated in the recipe. Ideally, let the batter sit for 5-10 minutes after mixing before cooking. Some other batter tips include:

  • If you don’t have buttermilk on hand, many recipes call for buttermilk and you can easily make your own how to make buttermilk
  • Use room temperature ingredients: This will help all wet ingredients mix more easily. Take your butter and eggs out of the refrigerator and measure your milk. Let the ingredients sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  • if your batter is also runny nose Just add a little flour to spread.
  • If your batter doesn’t spread at all too thick Add a little more water or milk.
  • When the pancakes fall apart, but does not riseadd a little leavening agent (baking soda/powder)
  • Whisk the egg whites: Separate the yolks from the whites. When instructed to add eggs, add the yolks to the batter. Put the whites in a separate bowl. When the batter is combined with all the ingredients, then whisk the whites until fluffy. Then, fold them into the batter. This will help make pancakes that are fluffy and airy.

when to flip: When making a new recipe, it’s a good idea to make a test pancake first and make adjustments.

  • Do not flip the pancake until small air bubbles appear on top of the batter and the edges are golden brown.
  • Once you flip it, the cooked side should be evenly golden brown. If there are burn marks, the temperature is too high. Adjust the temperature before cooking.
  • While it might seem like a good idea to help it cook faster or more evenly, don’t press the pancake down with the spatula. All it does is flatten it.

Serve a Crowd + Store Leftovers

Cooking and serving 2-3 large hot pancakes per person can be a daunting task. One way to help is to use a large electric frying pan. You can do 2-3 times more at a time than using a frying pan on the stove.

Another tip is to start cooking the pancakes about 20 minutes before you need to serve them. You can keep pancakes warm by placing them in a warm (200°F) oven. Make sure not to cover them with foil or they will get soggy.

To make the batter ahead of time or store extra batter: Pancake batter can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Just mix the batter and place a piece of plastic wrap on top of the bowl. Remix before pouring. Test 1 pancake. If it doesn’t rise well, add more leavening agent. Depending on the recipe, it’s likely to be baking powder or soda.

store pancakes: Leftover pancakes are great for a quick breakfast in the microwave or toaster. Store them in an airtight container, they will keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. I also have a great post on how to freeze pancakes.
