In Mexico and many Hispanic families, Christmas Eve or Nochebuena is the biggest Christmas meal time.

In my memory, my Luna family would gather on Christmas Eve to enjoy our favorite Mexican dishes-enchiladas, tacos, flautas, empanadas, rice and more!

Because so many people like Mexican food, especially during the holidays, I want to share with you some of our favorite traditional Mexican Christmas menu recipes.

All you need is some side dishes, salsa, main dishes, and you can enjoy all the best Mexican Christmas food!

Tips for festive Christmas dinner

Plan your meal: Decide which dishes to make fresh and which dishes can be made in advance. For more storage and reheating information, please refer to the individual recipes.

Also, please note that while some people like spicy Mexican food, others prefer lighter dishes. I recommend marking which dishes are spicy and which are milder. A good way to solve this problem is to prepare milder dishes, but prepare hot sauce for those who want to make their plates a little more exciting.

Sit down or self-service: The number of guests may determine whether you host a sit-down or buffet-style dinner. Sit-down dinners are best for small gatherings, while buffet-style dinners can accommodate 5 or 50 guests. Mexican cuisine is especially suitable for buffets.

In addition, I use hot pot and crock pot to keep warm.

furnish Our Noche Buena celebration always includes two things:

First, a birth. Traditionally, on Christmas Eve in Mexico, the children led the team into the church and put the baby Jesus in the manger. We don’t necessarily have a parade, but we always have a display of the birth of Jesus.

2. Poinsettia. My mother has them everywhere. Poinsettia blooms in southern Mexico in winter. This beautiful plant has a heartfelt Christmas legend.
