What is brunch? !

Breakfast + lunch = brunch.

Brunch is usually served around 10 am and can include breakfast food and/or lunch food! If you want more widespread dissemination, you can even include both.

Hosting a brunch can seem a bit daunting, especially if you choose to do it yourself rather than by luck. To keep things going smoothly and make sure everyone can find something for them, I have collected some of my favorite brunch recipes.

I also provided some of my best tips, so take a deep breath and let your master get started!

Tips for hosting a brunch

  1. Decide whether you want a more formal sit-down brunch or a family-style buffet.
  2. Set as much as possible the night before. Arrange furniture and dining table. Place tableware, tripod and hot pot. Hang up decorations.
  3. Use multi-layer platter. They provide extra service space and look very attractive.
  4. Prepare and prepare food in advance as much as possible.
  5. Will there be children? Prepare an activity area for them.

Is there a theme? Sometimes it is easy to determine when you will serve brunch at a bridal or baby shower. Other times, you might decide to use floral or color themes. You can even have food themes:

Plan the menu a few weeks in advance. There are several advantages to this.

  • It allows you to view the sales in the grocery store.
  • You have time to try new recipes to make any adjustments.
  • If you have a customer who wants to bring a dish, you will know what goes well with the other menu items.
  • You have about a week to make any changes.

When deciding what to put on the menu, the following points need to be considered:

  • If you choose a topic, what is relevant?
  • Which dishes can be made in advance?
  • What needs to be heated/cooked in the morning, and is there enough time and space to heat/cook?
  • Not everything requires self-control. Are there any items that can be purchased from the grocery store?
  • Make sure you strike a balance between sweet and salty, hot and cold.
  • Considering that you know that the guest has any allergies.

Keep food warm

Before and during the party, you can use a variety of techniques to keep food warm.

  • hot pot: If you don’t have one, you can use an electric heating pad to produce a similar effect. Be sure to pair the heating pad with the larger tray. Set a safe temperature for the heating pad and place the plate directly above it. In addition, please make sure that no ropes are blocked to prevent anyone from tripping over them.
  • crock: Crock is my favorite appliance in the kitchen. Even if you don’t use a pot for cooking, you can use it to keep warm.
  • cooking utensils: Insulated coolers can be used to keep food warm. Make sure that any dishes you place there are not squashed when they are stacked. You can use a hot water bottle or a hot brick wrapped in a towel to help keep the temperature warm.
  • oven: Set the oven to 200°F. It can be used to keep warm for many different dishes.

How much to serve

This is one of the most difficult parts of hosting any party. You don’t want to prepare too much, but you definitely don’t want to run out of food. Determining how much each person will eventually eat can be tricky. Use the following information to help you:

  • Quiche-1 piece per person
  • Baked/Casserole-1-2 pieces of 2 inches square
  • Pancakes-3 large per person
  • Waffles-2 per person
  • French toast-2 slices per person
  • Bacon or sausage-3-4 pieces per person
  • Eggs-2 per person, no matter how they are made
  • Coffee cake or pastry-1 ½ piece or piece per person
