Japanese fusion culinary hub Origami welcomes diners at its new space at Fashion Avenue in The Dubai Mall

For eight years, Japanese fusion culinary hub Origami has been a regular in Dubai’s modern dining scene, offering diners the perfect fusion of Japanese and local flavours. Their latest third outlet opens on Fashion Avenue in The Dubai Mall, with a complete overhaul from the interior design to the menu.

Launched in 2014 to reinterpret Japanese food in Dubai, Origami aims to make fresh, high-quality sushi readily available, with its flagship store located on the top floor of Al Souq Mall in Umm Suqeim 3. Eight years on, their values ​​remain unwavering, and the brand has preserved customs and rituals as it evolves, offering culinary experiences and revered craftsmanship in an immersive search of Japan’s most admired underground sushi restaurants; no Retouched, imperfect and simple.

An authentic Japanese dining experience, seating only 40 people; with striking interiors and a unique seating design, an interpretation of the time-honored Japanese and Arabic dining tradition of sitting in groups on a carpeted floor. Diners at the Origami restaurant cast their eyes on the black matte tiles and textured glass partitions as if they were in the Far East.

The restaurant’s new menu includes new dishes such as fried chicken, crispy salmon, fried beef, cauliflower popcorn, salmon tataki and Unagi, and foie gras as part of the side dishes, sashimi and uramaki sections. Origami has dedicated a whole new section to grilled food and also offers hearty new dishes including grilled chicken wings, grilled sea bass with tomato salsa and prawn tsukune.
