The brainchild of award-winning chef Kelvin Cheung, Jun’s is a cutting-edge new Asian restaurant concept opening this summer in Downtown Dubai. Jun’s welcomes guests to a sleek and contemporary venue, offering a warm environment that invites visitors to embrace comfort and mingle through gastronomy.
Opened in partnership with UAE-based global corporate management and consulting group Kings Group Ventures, Jun’s is located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and offers a sophisticated and convivial fine dining experience with a spacious outdoor patio area and stunning views of the Burj Khalifa.
Marking Cheung’s debut in the UAE, Jun’s is a contemporary culinary experience that evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, with food presented simple yet full of flavour. With community at its core, Jun’s was created to celebrate togetherness, a place where guests can come together to commemorate life’s big victories as well as everyday joys.
Capturing the nostalgic flavors of North American and Asian cuisine, Jun’s menu draws inspiration from Cheung’s Chinese heritage, his North American upbringing and French training, combined with the freshest ingredients from local farms.
“I pushed my culinary boundaries while creating a modern, approachable experience inspired by my time in Hong Kong, India and Canada. Born in Canada, raised in Chicago, and living in Dubai, Zhang is a third-generation Chinese-Canadian chef who grew up in the kitchen and spent most of his childhood traveling the world and cooking in the kitchen. strange place. Dessert selections are equally distinctive, featuring unique flavors such as boba crème brûlée — a nod to Zhang’s first adventure, his bubble tea shop in Chicago — and matcha sponge with fun Goo mousse and miso crumbles.
Named after the spirit of embracing the steed – which is what Jun means in Mandarin – the restaurant is modern, clean and bold, with unique design elements inspired by steeds. The interior features a sand palette, natural materials and a variety of textures, including wood, marble and white brick, to bring the overall design together to create a chic and welcoming ambience.
For those looking for a more private setting, Jun’s offers an elevated lounge area with wood floors and ceilings that offer panoramic views across the restaurant. A series of intricate hanging installations, made from a unique mesh material, cast shadows on the walls of the dining room, adding an extra layer of dimension to the interior.
The bar is designed with natural cliff tops and a stunning marble top, while the columns are adorned with cobblestone, a sustainable material that reconnects the design with the environment. Jun’s bar offering is curated by the award-winning bartending team behind Tesouro, which is currently ranked 4th best bar in Asia by the world’s top 50.
