A symbol of Levantine hospitality and cuisine, acclaimed restaurateur Mireille Hayek has taken the local culinary scene by storm with her award-winning restaurant concept, Em Sherif. Bringing back the flavours of forgotten Levantine traditions, Em Sherif offers an impeccable culinary experience.

The latest extension to the concept is Em Sherif Sea Café, a seafood restaurant with a beef bar corner created by Mireille in homage to Lebanon’s historical ties to the Mediterranean world.

“Em Sherif Sea Café is my love letter to the Mediterranean side of Lebanon, with fresh and bright flavors and warm interiors filled with natural light and beautiful ocean-inspired designs. The past few years have reminded us of the value of time, being able to spend time with loved ones so it’s a welcoming space where everyone can come together for a good meal, or spend time with friends over a coffee or a hookah if they so desire. With an extensive menu of fresh seafood dishes, including “catch of the day”, diners can choose their preferred seafood. A wide range of hot and cold sandwiches awaits you, featuring traditional flavours and modern twists. Highlights include raw snapper, Provencal prawns and Samak rass asfour; and vibrant vegetarian snacks like Roasted Whole Cauliflower with Tahini and Spicy Pickled Walnut Dip, Hindbeh del zeit and Lentil kibbeh, perfect for a light summer meal. For those looking for a more hearty option, the restaurant also has a beef bar corner serving a variety of grilled meats.

Em Sherif Sea Café is the perfect blend of yesterday and today. Fresh and modern, the elegant and airy café is a visual and culinary tribute to Lebanon’s historical connection to the Mediterranean world, whether through its theme of beautifully hand-painted Portuguese azulejo wall tiles, or its various menus in entree and mezzanine style. The marine-inspired interiors have been carefully selected to exude an atmosphere that resonates with the restaurant’s homage to the Mediterranean world. Earlier this year, the first Em Sherif Sea Café franchise opened at The Avenues Mall, Bahrain’s waterfront shopping mall. It will be followed by Em Sherif Sea Café Abu Dhabi and Em Sherif Sea Café Riyadh which will open later this year.
