Is Chipotle Beef Grass-Fed 2021?

By telling consumers that the Australian beef is from 100% grass-fed cattle that have never been given antibiotics or hormones, Chipotle is providing more information than most companies do about the origins of its meat.

Last month, Chipotle CEO Steve Ells announced that the company was sourcing grass-fed beef from Australia, saying “the U.S. supply isn’t growing quickly enough to match our demand.” Many American producers, though, disagree.

But viewers should not confuse these fictional stories with Chipotle’s, or their competitors’, actual practices. For one, Chipotle does rely on conventionally raised meat when it can’t find enough responsibly raised meat. (Importing beef from Australia will help but not solve the problem, Arnold said, as it’s “filling at least some of that gap.”)

Chipotle’s animal welfare standards may be better than other national restaurant chains, but they are still unclear. A big part of Chipotle’s “Food With Integrity” philosophy is sourcing what it calls “responsibly raised” meat (originally called “naturally raised”).

What does 13 mean at Chipotle?

What’s more, Chipotle believes that its top performers exhibit 13 distinctive characteristics. They strive to find people who are: motivated, infectiously enthusiastic, respectful, curious, presentable, happy, honest, polite, smart, ambitious, high energy, hospitable, and conscientious.

According to a government statement, McDonald’s (MCD), Burger King (BKW), Carl’s Jr., Papa John’s (PZZA), KFC and Pizza Hut are all required to list the companies that supply their Shanghai restaurants.

Chipotle has long been a pioneer in serving better quality ingredients. … Additionally, none of the ingredients used in Chipotle’s food have been genetically modified. With the introduction of its new tortillas, the company now touts only 51 real ingredients used to prepare all of its food.

Mashed polled over 500 Americans on which fast food restaurant they believe has the best quality beef. While Wendy’s won the top spot, with nearly 30 percent of the votes, there was another chain close behind, snagging a high 28 percent of respondents’ approval.

Chipotle imports a lot of its beef from Australia, where China is now looking to buy more protein following the impact of the swine fever that’s roiled global meat markets. Beef is the key ingredient in the company’s carne asada, steak and barbacoa burritos.

Carne asada is traditionally made using skirt steak or flank steak. The two cuts are very similar and can be used interchangeably.
