Are They Building A Costco In Midland Tx?

After months of keeping Midland residents on the edge of their seats, Costco Wholesale Corp. received final approval from the city to build a new 157,000-square-foot store in Midland.

Gary Fountain Developers in Midland and Odessa are now working to entice Costco Wholesale Corp. to build a store in the area. Costco is a membership warehouse club that prides itself in offering the lowest price on a range of brand-name merchandise, including electronics, furniture and food.

ABC Big 2 reached out to the City of Midland to get an answer. A spokesperson said while it’s not out of the question a Costco will come to the area, it’s not a guarantee.

Shoppers lined up in the frosty morning to be one of the first customers inside the Midland Costco on Thursday, Nov. 12. First in line was Matt Rassette, who said he was most looking forward to the special deals the store offers, as well as the community it creates.

Some of the new stores aren’t listed on Costco’s website yet because they don’t have opening dates. They include a location in Seattle and others in Des Moines, Iowa, Garner, N.C., Orlando, Fla., and Tulsa, Okla.
