Arguably the most famous French mustard brand, Maille has been around for centuries, selling vinegar and mustard in storefronts in Paris and Dijon.

But mustard is special, and popular everywhere on Earth it lands. As a member of the Brassicacae family (which also includes pungent green vegetables like cabbage, cress, and broccoli), mustard is a low maintenance crop that thrives in a broad range of climates.

The crowd-favorite Gulden’s proves it’s an old reliable favorite for a reason. “Since the main ingredient of this mustard is organic and because it has less sodium than many of the other mustards on the list, Gulden’s mustard comes in first place,” Tao says.

Interesting, right? Well, we were today years old when we found out that French’s Mustard lids have a secret feature, too: a nub that holds the cap open. In a YouTube video, Chris Notap demonstrates some common pitfalls that happen when putting mustard on a sandwich.
