Is Trader Joe’S Mayonnaise Whole30?

Almost every single brand of mayonnaise contains either soybean oil or sugar, or both. It can be really hard to find Whole30 mayo brands. It’s because there are only 10 Whole30 mayo brands out there! In fact, when I first did a Whole30 back in 2014, there wasn’t a single Whole30 mayo brand on the market. Not one!!

While it’s tough to let go of staples like cheese and hummus for a few weeks, the 30-day cleanse is much easier when you have a variety of interesting foods to choose from. Luckily, Trader Joe’s has a bunch of options that we’d add to our carts even when we’re not on the Whole30 diet.

Trader Joe’s Whole30-approved Almond Butter is the best of the best — unlike other nut butters, this version is made with whole food ingredients and has zero added sugars. It comes in two varieties: creamy with salt and raw creamy with no salt.

Avonaise Vegan Whole30 Mayo is a great choice for those vegetarians out there doing a Whole30. *Note the first two varieties use avocado oil and olive oil, while the red pepper variety uses sunflower oil. You can find Avonaise Vegan Whole30 Mayo on Amazon or use their store locator.

Does Trader Joe’s have bacon?

Look for the No Sugar Dry Rubbed Uncured Bacon, as this is the only Whole30 compliant bacon at Trader Joe’s.

Other staple items that Trader Joe’s has that are Whole30 compliant are a few different types of mustard. Deli style, plain yellow mustard and dijon are all Whole30 under the Trader Joe’s brand. I’m happy they have some compliant bars at Trader Joe’s too.

What are some good things to eat at Trader Joe’s?

With the exception of salad kits and some dressings -all fruits and veggies are a thumbs up. However, there are a few things from Trader Joe’s that will make your life SO much easier when meal prepping/trying to stay on track. Jicama Wraps – These are amazing for a tortilla sub!

Salsa, Salsa Verde, Salsa Autentica, Hatch Valley Salsa, Garlic Chipotle Salsa, Organic Tomatillo Roasted Yellow Chili Salsa, Double Roasted Salsa, Salsas are perfect for putting on eggs, adding into recipes (Sometimes I throw a jar into my Paleo Turkey Chili for extra flavor), or just adding on top of meals.

Read ingredients to make sure there are no extra sugars because formulas change from time to time. Nuts/Seeds -They have any and every nut/seed you can think of at Trader Joes. Try to stay away from the marinated/flavored ones because they typically have non-compliant ingredients. All raw nuts are compliant.

Trader Joe’s has a great variety of really affordable meats. You can get regular conventional meats- or if you want grass fed/free range they have that too! Plus their frozen section has SO many awesome things.

Is Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi whole30? Yes, it technically is. Cauliflower gnocchi is not totally in the spirit of Whole30 because it’s a recreation of pasta, but they are technically compliant.

Is it easy to give up gluten on Whole30?

Giving up gluten, dairy, sugar, legumes and alcohol isn’t easy (or appealing) for most of us, but if you’ve committed to the Whole30 diet this month, the creators would probably tell you that’s the whole point.

Everything but the Bagel Seasoning. It’s not easy giving up bagels for a month, but it’s definitely a little easier when you can add a classic bagel seasoning to just about everything. Salmon, eggs, avocado — you name it: It’s better with a sprinkle of this stuff.

Clarified Butter (Ghee ) Ghee or clarified butter is free from milk proteins, so it’s the only source of dairy allowed on the Whole30 diet. It is one of the few exceptions to the no-dairy rule, and we think you should take full advantage of it for cooking chicken and sautéeing veggies.

We can’t emphasize this enough — a bag of cauliflower rice should be a staple in your freezer or fridge, especially during the Whole30. Mix it with veggies and top with a protein, and you’ve got a hearty meal.

Since this includes a non-grain-based flour, Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi is fair game on Whole30. It’s the perfect comfort meal when that pasta craving hits every night (or is that just me?)
